A considerable number of tech companies finding China not less than a paradise for the production of their gadgets. From Apple’s iPhone to Nokia’s C3 almost all renowned make and models are being produced in China and it’s not hard to find why most companies preferring to China when it’s about production of their goods. These companies are mounting huge profits because of low labour and manufacturing costs.
However, life is really troublesome for those Chinese workers who make these gadgets for us. Labor practices illegal in the US are quite common in China and the life of the worker is really pathetic who produce these gadgets. These workers have to work for 12-16hrs and most get even less than a $1 per hour.
Apple is producing its iPhone in China; the company is the major victim of the current criticism. Sources are even calling the company a greedy manufacturer that sucking the blood of the Chinese workers to produce its so-called revolutionary device.
A recent article from Keith Bradsher and Charles Duhigg in New York Times reveals some bitter truths on manufacturing of iPhones and iPads in China. According to Keith and Charles, making an iPhone in the US may cost around $65 or more, but the same device can be produced in China in just $8. Because of such huge manufacturing cost difference, it’s not hard to find why Apple and many other manufacturers reckoning China an ideal place to manufacture their goods. However, the condition of the workers that produce these devices is really pathetic and needs world attention.
